Blue Ride

I was walking along the quite empty street with my camera in hand and this lonely car captured my attention. I knew I had to paint it.
I am influenced by the way my camera captures the light and shadows of fleeting moments. My painting explores the juxtaposition of reality, my memory, and imagination. In a world where everything is running at the speed of light, I want my paintings to reflect a moment in time. As I layer oil on canvas I shut out the noise of judgement and think clearly. I find peace and solace. Sometimes the result is a near exact recreation of the photo and sometimes it is something new, a collaboration between the real world and my imagination.
